Okay so it seems like it has been about 10 years since I last wrote. Hmmm. What has been happening then?
1. Noah is cruising right along. He is really into being outside. The weather is getting warmer here in Asheville, and with the time change (Don't even get me started about the time change impacts of William Willett and World War I - but let just say that Willett, who basically created the concept of DST, is the great great grandfather of Chris Martin, the frontman of Coldplay), we have more "daylight" (which is also a song by Coldplay.) We have all been able to be outside much more and thus, we are all happier in the Graham house. When I pick up Noah from school, we are often going over to the "big playground" to get in some hardcore play. We are talking big slides, bumpy slides, twisty slides, turrets, ladders, swings, giant sandboxes, ziplines, tire swings, etc. Honestly, the "big playground" rules. Thank you Asheville Parks and Rec. Thank You. Noah picked up a stick in the yard yesterday. He said it was a light saber, AND that he was an Ewok, and that I was Han Solo. Hell yes. The force is strong with this one. (There is a new Star Wars film coming out this summer that takes place durin the Clone Wars. Here is the story.)
2. Once again, we have been, and will continue to travel. We were in the Camel City (AKA Winston-Salem) last weekend, seeing all the other Grahams. We had fun, ate way too much food. We are traveling to Charleston, SC next weekend with some friends for some Spring Break rest and relaxation. We love Charleston, and have spent a bit of time there over the years, so we are quite excited. Noah will get to run and scream on the beach. That is wonderful. We are going to fly the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle kite. We can not be stopped.
3. Jessica has been busy at work. It is funny really. She has to deal with as much drama among the faculty and staff as she does among her students.
4. My classes are really cool this semester. I am having a good time. We are going to play Capture the Flag next week, as a strategic demonstration of trench warfare in WWI. That will be fun.
