Noah just completed his second musical, Beauty and the Beast, at the Asheville Community Theater. He played the part of LaFew, Gaston's trusty sidekick. As always, he loved it - and has found a home in the theater. Not only has he made new friends and found a community, but he is learning new things and growing up in the process. He is 11 years old - which is a hard age to grow up. Lots of things are changing, and it is easy to find yourself unrecognizable. (And it has been a new struggle for me, as father, to understand that mood swings are just...well, normal). But, I am so grateful that we live in a city that nurtures creativity and welcomes everyone, which is best exemplified by the success of the youth programs at ACT. Noah feels at home there, and is evident when he is performing on the stage.
Watching Noah perform warms my heart to no end, and I am still busting out with pride - not only because he does his best - but because he delivers every line, and sings every song, with complete and total committed enthusiasm.
Bravo, Noah.
Keep that pedal to the metal!
