Our family has officially made the transition. We are no longer members of the YMCA. We are now members of the YWCA. Our reasons are simple. The YWCA is located next to Jessica's school. It is much cheaper. Everyone tells us that they have better swim lessons. We can take the kids swimming more often. It is way less crowded. AND Jessica and I can more easily work out together in the afternoons, since she is only 20 steps away.
Our joining the YWCA is yet another example of our belief that the most important thing in our lives is to make time for each other. So, we are hoping that this will help us accomplish that. It is all part of the plan, as it were. Making time for each other.
We have also been attending open houses at the local elementary schools. Today, it became clear that we know the school that we want Noah to attend next year. Choosing what type of school our child will attend has helped us reflect on exactly what Jessica and I honestly believe about education and community. And in the end, we know that no matter what - we want to be able to spend as much time as possible with our children, in school and out of school. That is all. So, we have chosen a school that is great, but that is also geographically located in an area (between our two schools) where we can get as much time with Noah before and after school as possible. It feels great.
