Ever since Hamilton came into existence, our children have been in love with it. Its mix of Musical Theater, history, hip-hop, and humor was a slam dunk for the Grahams. But the ticket prices to see this thing are straight up outrageous (to the point that I refused to but tickets on principle of it being so price-gouging capitalist. I like Fugazi after all.)
Anyways, when the Hamilton tour made a stop in Charlotte last Fall, Jessica started entering the daily lottery that enabled the winner to win two front row $10 tickets to the show. We didn't win in Charlotte, but continued entering for the Durham show, and....BOOM! We won!

So, we may a quick family decision to purchase two additional tickets for regular price, and we dropped everything and drive to Durham. We toured Duke, at at Pizzeria Toro, and fully immersed ourselves in Hamilton for 2.5 hours. Noah specifically said that it was the" best day of his life," and the show absolutely lived up to expectation. (I told him to please remember this moment if he is ever complaining about our parenting in a future therapy session:)
Needless to say, I am beyond thrilled that we were given this opportunity - and astutely aware that we did not earn it. So, we took our shot, and are thankful for our coworkers for helping us out while we were suddenly gone to Durham, and to my Mom, who quickly opened up our house to us to stay the night. As always, we can not do it alone - but we also
are not throwing away our shot!
