Pandemic Dispatch {May 13}

So North Carolina moved into Phase 1 last week.  This means that certain stores (retail, clothing, etc) are allowed to reopen - though still under strict social distancing guidelines.  So far, it hasn't really changed things much for us, excluding the fact that Noah finally got to make a trip to Goodwill to get his thrift on (he masked up and whatnot).

We did take a short drive to visit Grandpa Al's house near Burnsville. 

We have been running and walking on the closed Blue Ridge Parkway, which has been really cool...
  

We also got Jessica a new badminton set for Mother's day, so that has been pretty cool too.  



All official school work end next Friday on May 22, so we are definitely placing one tentative foot into the summer.  I've even started shopping for a new car....Hope springs eternal..


We also had to send in a photo of what our "working from home" looks like, which you can see here.  We loosely modeled it on Oasis' Definitely Maybe album Cover.

Im 30....seriously.

I am turning 30 today. So in the spirit of reflecting on these first 30 years of living, I am starting this blog. So, to begin - I shall update my status in life (this sounds complicated, so I will just try this in "list form."): Noah = greatest thing that ever happened to me. having a child was like an act of god, immediatly enacting a revolution on my perspective. Everyone tells you that " it is going to change everything." But I think I internalized that in a way that seemed to say ... things outside of me would change ie: schedules, sleeping, finaces, etc. Those things do change. But I did not accept that it would be ME that would go through the most profound changes. What I mean is, that the world itself has not shifted, but my view of that world (like Picasso in his Cubist period) has been transformed.
