Pizza Buffets and Velocity.

A question for this Wednesday: Do you know what saves your sanity on a snowy day, when the only entrance to your neighborhood is blocked by THREE car accidents due to ice and snow - leaving you in a situation where you have to hike a half mile up-hill (carrying children) to reach your car, and everyone in your house is in the grumpiest mood ever?

Well, I am glad that you asked - because the Asheville pizza buffet does. That's right playas - when in doubt, take your children to Asheville Pizza, and allow them to eat pizza, ice cream, and play video games. Everyone will walk away in a magnificent mood. Pizza buffets were the cure for what ailed us.
And to top this off, Noah and I even won the Rudolph doll out of the "Claw" machine thing - after only three tries, nonetheless.

Dictionary.com defines "velocity" as: rapidity of motion or operation; swiftness; speed: a high wind velocity. So what have the Grahams learned, yet again? That we need routines, and if we do not have a routine for the day - then we should manufacture a routine. Our family simply functions so. much. better. when we operate in a state of velocity, that is of of our own creation.

Im 30....seriously.

I am turning 30 today. So in the spirit of reflecting on these first 30 years of living, I am starting this blog. So, to begin - I shall update my status in life (this sounds complicated, so I will just try this in "list form."): Noah = greatest thing that ever happened to me. having a child was like an act of god, immediatly enacting a revolution on my perspective. Everyone tells you that " it is going to change everything." But I think I internalized that in a way that seemed to say ... things outside of me would change ie: schedules, sleeping, finaces, etc. Those things do change. But I did not accept that it would be ME that would go through the most profound changes. What I mean is, that the world itself has not shifted, but my view of that world (like Picasso in his Cubist period) has been transformed.
