More snow in our Blue Ridge mountains, and more time for me to reflect on gratitude.

Today I am most thankful for:
1. Local skating rinks that have not changed since 1984.
2. Avery's sense of humor, and ability to change his behaviors when we REALLY need him to. ( and today we REALLY needed him to).
3. Working at a job that inspires me, and makes me want to improve my teaching everyday.
4. Antibiotics that are finally lifting the fog that has been my three week sinus infection.
5. A school day that included hosting students from Australia, who were so charming, and so surprised at how thin most of us Americans were in reality.
6. Noah's amazing persistence in learning to roller skate, after getting so frustrated that he cried.
7. Living in a nation that makes everyone take a day off to honor the life of Martin Luther King, Jr.
8. A wife who follows her passion to make art everyday.
9. A home church that welcomes everyone - despite race, sexual preference, gender, or socio-economic status, and sings MLK's favorite gospel hymns on this Sunday.
10. A sister who will send me her recipe for homemade macaroni and cheese within 60 seconds of my asking.
